Narragansett Bay Commission, Field’s Point WWTF
This position is responsible for providing day-to-day supervision and direction to subordinate skilled and semi-skilled unionized personnel involved in multiple site installation, repair and maintenance of Narragansett Bay Commission (NBC) wastewater collection system facilities in conformance to all NBC, State, Federal and Local regulatory guidelines. Directs subordinate staff in the daily maintenance and repair activities performed. Responsible for setting priorities on work tasks, rendering technical advice for repairs and/or maintenance activities. Delegates daily work tasks and monitors work progress. Responsible for resolving personnel problems; including, but not limited to issuing safety warnings in the field; maintenance problems; scheduling conflicts; and other issues pertaining to work progress. Responsible for communicating personnel problems deemed significant, where it affects work progress,to Management. Performs other duties as assigned, within skill and experience capabilities.
EDUCATION & TRAINING: Graduate of a four-year technical High School program (mechanical repair, construction trades, mechanical technology, etc.) plus two years previous skilled trades supervisory work experience. Voluntary certification in Wastewater Collection System Operator Grade III is desirable. Must demonstrate proficiency with computer office programs such as MS Word, Excel and other related programs.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must maintain a valid CDL Class B license.
