This course is offered in conjunction with the Board for the purposes of preparing for the Grade 1 exam only; however those prepping for the Grade 2 exam will find this course beneficial as well. It is intended for those seeking to review material and will cover a wide range of wastewater topics including:.
• Preliminary, Primary, and Secondary Treatment
• Disinfection and Solids Handling
• Sample collection, laboratory testing, safety, and maintenance
• Wastewater math
Because the Rhode Island Board of Certification of Operators of Wastewater Treatment Facilities only offers licensure to approved applicants, passing this course is not necessarily a guarantee of securing the Rhode Island Grade 1 license.
This review course is based on the well known CSU Sacramento home-study course manuals for WWTP operations. Purchasing the Sacramento manual is recommended, but not required.

Registration Deadline: You must register at least three days in advance of the first day of the
course. Registrations after this time will incur a $15 late fee.
Cancellations/No-Shows: Three days’ notice is required for you to cancel at no cost.
Cancellations received after this time will be charged $50.
Registrants who do not cancel and who fail to show are responsible for full payment.
